Brackeys Game Jam 2026.1 - Theme: Strange Places

In Dreamscape, you step into the mind of a child drifting through a restless night.
What begins as a simple dream quickly twists into a journey across strange galaxies, shifting dimensions, and surreal landscapes where nothing behaves as expected.

Fight bizarre creatures born from imagination.
Survive unstable environments.
Push forward through places that feel both magical and unsettling.

This is a roguelite shoot ’em up set in worlds that shouldn’t exist, and yet somehow do.

Every run throws you into unfamiliar territory. Strange gravity. Shifting atmospheres. Unexpected dangers. The dream doesn’t follow rules… and neither do the places within it.

Will you survive the night?

Controls

• WASD / ZQSD → Movement

• Left Click → Shoot

• Tab → Open shop (or it opens automatically when dying)

Disclaimer

This game is our third entry in a game jam, and we wanted to make a roguelite shoot ’em up for this one.

The story takes place in the dream of a child who imagines himself braving danger in strange galaxies.

Our project was very ambitious, and even though we weren’t able to do everything we wanted to, we hope that most of you will find some moments of enjoyment in it.
